We are now into the last five weeks of the Summer Term and some of our older children are getting ready to transition into Reception at Primary School in September.  Their new school teachers have been coming to meet them and they have also been visiting their new schools to see the classroom and to meet their new school friends.  To celebrate the end of term and those children moving on, we will be having a picnic celebration with families and a sing-along with Martin, the music man, in the final week.

Parents will also have a chance to meet with teachers this term to discuss their child's progress and development at the Consultation Meetings, and get to see the Learning Journey compiled from observations taken whilst the child is in nursery.  

We have been continuing to build on our Growing and Planting theme this term and we now have caterpillars in the office.  The children are excited to see them grow, waiting for them to turn into chrysalis and then butterflies which they will let free in the garden.  They are reading about The Very Hungry Caterpillar and relating this to the speed at which the caterpillars are growing!

Jez from Rugby Tots is back on a Monday morning, teaching movement and co-ordination with running, throwing and colours.  It is amazing to see how the children listen to his instructions and respond to his fun games, learning how to catch and throw with the foam rugby balls. 

Martin also continues to come in on a Tuesday, filling the nursery with his singing and music on both his violin and guitar.  He alternates between morning and afternoon sessions so that all of our children can get a chance to join in.
