Happy children, growing and learning together is what Broomhall Nursery has excelled in since we opened in 1930. The oldest nursery in Sheffield, we are one of just three stand alone nursery schools in the City funded by the Local Authority. Staffed exclusively by teachers educated to degree standard and level 3 qualified early years practitioners the children here enjoy a learning through play experience that Ofsted describe as “good to outstanding”.
Most of our committed and skilled staff team have been with us for many years, which is testament to the friendly, happy and engaging environment at Broomhall. We pride ourselves in providing a safe, supportive, creative and joyful environment in which your child can explore and discover the world. Our Nursery School & Children’s Centre occupies a large and once grand house set in beautiful, extensive walled gardens on the edge of the City Centre. It’s a great environment for children to explore and enjoy with equipment to climb and balance; a large sandpit in which to dig and build; places to hide, seek, scoot, pedal and drive; raised beds in which to plant, tend and grow and mature trees and living willow arches for shade and dappled sunlight.

- Open Monday to Friday from 8 am—6 pm we can offer you flexible childcare and high quality nursery education to suit your family circumstances:
- 52 week contract or school term-
time only places - Full day places
- Morning or afternoon sessions, with or without lunch
- Breakfast Club and Tea Club
- Up to 15 hours Free Early Learning in term-
time for 3 and 4 year old children
We are often able to offer 3 and 4 year old children a place at Broomhall immediately. You can download an application form from our web site (where you can also find lots more useful information about us) or you can call us to arrange a visit to look around.
For the under 3s we operate a waiting list. We suggest that you fill in an application form as soon as you start to consider your future childcare options. Not only will this mean that when the time comes for you actually to need childcare you are well placed on our waiting list but it also enables us to keep you up to date with all the Children’s Centre activities you and your family might enjoy right away.
